How the planner works
Spacing and companion rules are the same data used by the companion planting guide and the variety tool, so a plan you make here matches the advice you read elsewhere on SproutLoop.
One square foot, one plant
Every cell is one square foot. Spacing comes from extension planting guides, so a large crop such as winter squash covers the cells it needs before it is dropped on the bed.
Neighbors are checked
Each placement is compared against the companion data, so good pairings show green and pairings that stunt growth or share pests are flagged in red.
